The Chibok girls were kidnapped from their government secondary school in the town of Chibok in Borno state by Boko Haram terrorists on April 14, 2014.

Disclosing details of the apprehend of the suspected bellwether of the Boko Haram sect, Major General Fortuitous Irabor, the deputy theatre commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Maiduguri that the suspect was apprehended in one of the routine operations by soldiers.
He verbalized: “We have in our custody a good number of suspected terrorists that were apprehended as a result of our routine operations.
“One of those suspects is believed to be on the list of our 100 most wanted terrorists’ bellwethers.”
General Irabor however noted that there was need to ascertain the true identity of the suspect before final confirmation to the media.
“There are checks that must be done afore final attestation, facial attributes inclined to show that he is the one.
“But then, there are other things we require to do to ascertain that is he who we verbalized he is. Albeit the facial attributes corroborated he is the one, but it is not just by looks solitary.
“We have had cases where we had misconstrue identity only to come up to verbalize we are contrite, that is what we are endeavoring to eschew this time,” he verbally expressed.
